Last year, we had the opportunity to be part of one of the most important and challenging projects in our history: the construction of the southernmost wind farm in the world, in partnership with TotalEnergies, in Tierra del Fuego.
It was a project of great technical and logistical complexity, carried out under demanding climatic and operational conditions, which tested our planning, execution, and teamwork capabilities. Participating in a project of this magnitude represented not only a professional challenge but also an enormous responsibility and source of pride for our entire team.
From the outset, the objective was clear: to carry out a highly demanding project while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and commitment. Each stage required precise coordination, constant adaptation, and strong teamwork among all stakeholders.
One of the highlights of the project was the work carried out on-site. During the peak of construction, 156 workers, mostly from Río Grande, performed manual excavation in areas where machinery could not be used due to safety concerns.
Regarding this challenge, Alejandro Bellorini, CEO of Dreicon, highlighted:
“The execution was challenging in terms of logistics and the nature of some tasks. At the peak of the project, we employed 156 workers, almost all from Río Grande, to dig 1,500 cubic meters of trench by hand. We couldn’t do it with machinery because of the risks. Initially, we had some injuries, but we hired a trainer, and during the four months of construction, we had no further injuries.”
Beyond the technical magnitude of the project, this experience reaffirms something that we at Dreicon consider fundamental: great projects are made possible by the people who bring them to life every day. The team’s commitment, dedication, and professionalism were key to achieving this milestone.
We would like to especially thank TotalEnergies for the trust they placed in us and every member who was part of this project.
This project represents not only a milestone for the energy industry and the region but also another step on our path of growth and consolidation as a company.
