Total Wind Farm (with BESS)

DESCRIPtioN

Project Management and Detailed Engineering

  • Detailed Engineering: Comprehensive development of plans and specifications for construction in the following specialties: Civil (foundations for a 180m² electrical room, heavy equipment, and road infrastructure), Electrical (power, switchboards, and grounding system), Instrumentation (EMS system and wind turbine control), and Process (piping for gas skid and fire protection system).
  • Project Management and Control: Full administration, Level 3 planning with bi-weekly updates, and coordination of technical interfaces between the operator and wind turbine suppliers.
  • Logistics in Extreme Environments: Definition and management of all the infrastructure necessary for project execution in the field: camp, workshops, offices, transportation, and fuel logistics under severe weather conditions.
  • Studies and Surveys: Execution of field surveys and validation of basic engineering to ensure the electromechanical compatibility of the new systems.

Purchasing, Supply, and Logistics:

  • Multidirectional Logistics and International Crossing: Management of multimodal transport of critical equipment, including transit through Chilean territory, customs clearance, and crossing of the Strait of Magellan by barge.
  • Critical Supply Management: Provision of BESS systems, power transformers, equipment for the gas skid, and materials for the fire protection network.
  • Quality Control at Origin: Activation, inspection, and manufacturing acceptance testing (FAT) at full load with complete traceability protocols.

Plant Construction and Assembly

  • Earthworks and Road Construction: Execution of large-scale excavations, land leveling, access road construction, and soil compaction under extreme weather conditions for equipment installation.
  • Storage and Power: Construction of foundations and assembly of BESS systems (6 x 20-foot battery containers) and assembly of 20/6.6 kV power transformers.
  • Process and Gas Works: Modification of the Fuel Gas Skid (scrubber recertification, installation of a new heater, and execution of tie-ins) and adaptation of the Fire Protection System for the battery banks.
  • Interface and Connection: Technical coordination with wind turbine suppliers, laying of power cables with identification using engraved stainless steel plates, and installation of a soft starter for export pumps.

Construction and Assembly of a New Electrical Room (Hybridization Electrical Room)

  • Dimensions and Capacity: Modular structure of 180 m² (20x9x5 m) with a total weight of 50 tons.
  • Manufacturing and Standards: Built according to ISO 9001 standards with in-house equipment and construction facilities; including welder certification, paint testing, and certification of lifting lugs and tools.
  • Logistical Challenge: Modular construction in Buenos Aires consisting of 13 main components and a critical 3,000 km transport to Tierra del Fuego.
  • On-Site Assembly: Construction of reinforced concrete foundations, module assembly, watertight sealing, and complete power and control wiring.

Pre-commissioning, Commissioning Assistance, and Start-up Support

  • Specialized Technical Assistance: Technical support during the commissioning and start-up of BESS and generation systems.
  • Corrective Action Management: Implementation of engineering adjustments and completion of work identified during functional testing.
  • Pre-commissioning and Testing: Execution of cold test protocols, pre-commissioning tests with certified instrumentation, and qualified on-site supervision.
  • Final Documentation: Delivery of final documentation (CAO, P&IDs, Single-Line Diagrams, PAT Drawings) that reflects the actual state of the electrical room and the constructed plant, ensuring safe maintenance.
