We want to thank the AHK Argentina – German Argentine Chamber of Industry and Commerce for inviting us to this visit! It was a very valuable experience in which our COO, Gerardo Manhard, participated.

Together with 25 participants from member companies of the Hydrogen committee, we carried out a technical visit to Bahía Blanca to learn about the potential of the local port as a hydrogen hub. This activity was carried out within the framework of the H2UPPP promotion program financed by the German Ministry of Economy and Climate Protection and implemented by GIZ in cooperation with AHKs around the world.

On the first day, the delegation was received with a reception by the Bahía Blanca Port Consortium, in which the Mayor of Bahía Blanca, Federico Susbielles, the President of the Bahía Blanca Port Management Consortium, Santiago Mandolesi, and Martín Virdis, Development and Innovation Coordinator of the Bahía Blanca Port Management Consortium. During the meeting, the current development and future planning of the port was presented. Then, we sail to see it from the water.

In the afternoon we made two visits to companies that are within the port: Profertil, a company that produces ammonia and urea, and Unipar, producers of chlorine, caustic soda and PVC.

During the second day, the Bahía Hub was held, a meeting to discuss the creation of the Bahía Blanca port hub with local actors, in which an interactive dynamic was then held in groups to discuss what is required for the creation of a hydrogen hub with global projection in Bahía Blanca, and also be able to deepen relations between Germany and Argentina along this path.
